Kaduna Movement Sets 1.2 Million Vote Goal for Tinubu and Sani in 2027

A Kaduna-based political group, the Aminiya Movement for Uba Sani/Tinubu, has set a target of 1.2 million votes for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 general elections.
Abdulmumini Aminu-Zaria, who coordinates the movement, made the announcement on Sunday at a media engagement in Kaduna. He asked voters to return the two All Progressives Congress leaders for a second term, pointing to what he described as their achievements in security, education, agriculture and infrastructure.
According to Aminu-Zaria, the group is devoted to building support for both leaders, and he argued that a fresh mandate would allow them to finish projects already under way and lock in their policies.
He said the movement's only objective is to mobilise backing and secure 1.2 million votes for the two of them.
Giving reasons why Sani should be re-elected, Aminu-Zaria said the governor had made security better by holding talks with community leaders and by trying to resolve the grievances behind farmer-herder clashes and communal tensions.
He said he would not claim that insecurity in Kaduna State had disappeared completely, but he knew it had been largely suppressed, adding that the search for peace must come before any talk of development.
Turning to education, the coordinator said the Sani administration had halved tuition fees at state-owned tertiary institutions, given assistance to poor students taking external examinations and improved school facilities.
He also said the government's school-feeding programme had brought more children back to school, though he did not supply figures to back this up.
On agriculture, he welcomed the sharing of free fertiliser and tractors with farmers, as well as spending on rural roads to make it easier to reach farms and markets.
Aminu-Zaria said the governor had started roughly 150 road projects covering about 1,450 kilometres across Kaduna State, and that rural communities had received more attention under the administration.
He traced some of the state's development projects to the relationship between Sani and Tinubu, saying support from the Federal Government had allowed the governor to push major infrastructure schemes.
He said most of the gigantic projects that are found only in the South, especially in Lagos, are now in Kaduna State because of the President's support.
Amid widespread hardship, Aminu-Zaria defended Tinubu's economic reforms, maintaining that painful policies could be needed to secure long-term economic stability.
He also pushed back against calls for the North to take the presidency in 2027, saying the rotational arrangement should be respected.
He said Tinubu is on board, that he comes from the South because power rotates, and that it is only natural for him to serve his eight years, after which a Northerner can seek the office.
On the APC's chances in Kaduna, the coordinator expressed confidence that Sani would secure a second term, pointing to better ties between the state government and Southern Kaduna communities.
He said the administration's engagement with Christian and Muslim communities had helped deepen peaceful coexistence across the state.
Aminu-Zaria called on voters to back the APC in 2027, warning that a change of government could break the continuity of projects already in progress.
He said one cannot be certain that anyone coming in would complete the projects Uba Sani started, and that he saw no reason not to give the APC a second chance.
