The road left behind: A gentle reminder to the FCT Minister

Good roads are not a luxury; they are a fundamental right and the bedrock of community progress. When a government forgets a community’s road, it forgets the market women whose goods spoil in transit. It forgets the school children who arrive at their desks drenched in mud or choking on dust. It forgets the sick and elderly, for whom an emergency trip to the hospital becomes an agonising gamble against time because ambulances cannot navigate the road.
This administration has been doing tremendously well in the FCT and its outskirts, but it seems our community in Pegi 1,000 Unit Estate, Kuje, has been forgotten. Even though the community is under the FCDA, we hardly feel its impact. We have written several letters and made pleas to all past administrations.
This is another plea to the current FCT administration under the leadership of its Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON. Mr Talk-and-Do, can you please do it for us too?
Sir, we are using this medium to appeal to you: please remember our community in Pegi 1,000 Unit Estate, FCT-Abuja. Look our way. Remember the mothers, the traders, the workers and youths of this community. Fix our road and let us also have a taste of democracy in Pegi.
It is always a nightmare passing through this road during the rainy season and beyond, as cars, tricycles and motorcycles drive through slippery paths where people easily fall and get injured. Criminals also take advantage of the situation to attack innocent residents plying the road.
Sir, you may not have visited this community, but we urge you to do so. This is a community that hosts the Navy Barracks, civil servants and others. We kindly appeal to you to look into the horrible situation we are in and do the needful.
God bless the FCT and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
