SILEP Media Summit, Book Unveiling Hold In Ilorin Today

The Attorney General of the Federation and minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), the First Lady of Kwara State, Amb. Olufolake Abdulrazaq; and the director general of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS),Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, are among the eminent personalities expected to grace the Kwara Forward Media Summit holding in Ilorin today.

The event, which will also feature the official unveiling of a biographical book on Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership and public service, is being organised by the Sardaunan Ilorin Legacy Platform (SILEP).

The summit is scheduled to hold at the Radio Kwara Hall, Ilofa Road, GRA, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who serves as the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and holds the traditional title of Sardauna of the Ilorin Emirate, is expected to attend the event as the special guest of honour in his capacity as SILEP’s life patron. The Emir of Ilorin, Alh. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, will serve as the royal father of the day.

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Engr. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, will chair the occasion, while SILEP’s grand patron, Alh Saadu Salahu will serve as the chief host. Prince Lateef Fagbemi, Prof. Sulaiman, and Amb. Olufolake Abdulrazaq will attend as distinguished guests of honour.

In a statement issued by the secretary of the Organising Committee, Tayo Ayanda, the summit will feature high-level discussions on leadership, governance, transformation, and legacy.

This will be followed by the formal presentation of the book titled, “Sardauna in the Eyes of History: A Book of Leadership, Service Culture and Inspiration for All Spheres of Life.”

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr Rafiu Ajakaye, the former Chief Press Secretary to the governor and APC House of Representatives candidate for Ifelodun/ Offa/ Oyun constituency.

The book will be reviewed by the commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, while its forewords will be presented by Coach Bola Mogaji, executive chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, and Hon Abdullahi Bata, commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development.
