2027: Reps’ wives promise Tinubu 20,000 votes per constituency
Wives of members of the House of Representatives have promised to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu 20,000 votes per constituency during the 2027 presidential election.
The lawmakers’ wives made the promise at the One-Day Women Stakeholders Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Summit organised by the APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, which was held on Monday in Abuja.
The event, themed “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity: One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027”, drew APC delegates from the 36 states of the federation and Abuja.
Also, women’s groups and assemblies, including the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), the National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN), Christian and Muslim groups, market associations, among others, endorsed the president at the event.
Speaking on behalf of the wives of the lawmakers, Hajiya Fatima Tajudeen Abbas, the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, said that the women are satisfied with the reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration.
She said the Tinubu administration has consistently shown that women are empowered, families are strengthened, and communities prosper.
Hajiya Tajudeen Abbas said, “So, we promise to bring 20,000 women’s votes from every federal constituency. I, therefore, call on Nigerian women to unite under one voice, one movement, one choice, one mandate.”
She urged women to go back to their wards and engage in door-to-door campaigns ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Also speaking, the First Lady, Remi Tinubu, said that Nigeria’s economy is stabilising, as foreign reserves are growing and inflation is going down.
Remi said that President Tinubu’s reforms are positively impacting the economy, as investors are returning to Nigeria, farmers are getting more support, and children have access to universities.
She said, “Our economy is stabilising, inflation is coming down, our foreign reserves are growing. Investors are returning to Nigeria, and our farmers are getting more support. Our children in the universities are now able to access student loans, just to mention a few.
“So, tell everyone, as you go back to your various ways, that you have a leader who is bold enough to take difficult decisions in the beginning.
“He is a leader who can be trusted to lead us into prosperity. Let us show the world that Nigerian women have spoken. We speak with one voice, and we vote APC again, so that the well-made solid foundation can be built upon.”
