PZ Cussons Q1 2027 revenue hits N260.46bn as organic operating profit jumps 39%

PZ Cussons, a major manufacturer of personal healthcare products and consumer goods, has posted revenue of N260.46 billion for the first quarter of its 2027 financial year, according to its board of directors. This represents a 10% increase over the N59.014 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.

An analysis of the company's unaudited financial statements shows that the cost of sales climbed by 5%, from N43.11 billion in the first quarter of the 2025 financial year to N45.06 billion in the same period of the 2026 financial year. Gross profit, however, grew by 24%, rising from N15.90 billion in Q1 2025 to N19.78 billion in Q1 2026.

Company Secretary Oghenekevwe Ogefere stated that total operating profit for the Q1 2027 financial year increased to N8.54 billion, up from N5.85 billion in the corresponding period of 2026, indicating better operating performance.

Ogefere linked the improvement to a favourable combination of volume and pricing, along with the strength of the group's brands in their respective categories. She added that the result demonstrated the group's ongoing commitment to sustainable revenue growth, operational efficiency, and reinforcing the business's fundamental performance.

"Profit before tax was N9.09 billion, while profit after tax was N4.63 billion. These figures were lower than in the corresponding period last year, which included N15.74 billion in non-recurring gains. The Group recorded N0.51 billion in non-recurring gains in the current quarter. Gross margin improved to approximately 30.5%, from 26.9% a year earlier," she said.

She stressed that the company remains dedicated to maintaining revenue growth, enhancing operating performance, and creating long-term value for its stakeholders.
