Memo to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf
Your Excellency you’re destined to be the Governor of Kano state despite the challenges you had in 2019. Alhamdulillah all has now become history. We will continue to pray for your success and Allah’s guidance always.
I am writing this memo on behalf of majority of people who are residents of Hotoro NNPC electoral ward including people passing through the ward to access Unguwa-uku and ring-road.
Sir it will interest you to know that since 2011 when the tenure of his excellency Malam Ibrahim Shekarau ended you and His excellency Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso have been winning the election in the ward with a wider margin upto the last election that brought you to power. But our major problems is lack of visible government presence in the ward. We doubt much if there’s any of your appointee who is either residing or comes from the ward but we all know the state is very wide and not all the wards can have an appointee in the government. We are also aware that in today’s political environment some appointees are more about serving themselves than the people for the purpose of wooing more voters/support for the party at all levels or bring developmental projects to their constituency.
The major road in our ward, which majority uses is the one that’s from Maiduguri Road u-turn. The road passes in between the fence of ARTV and Hadejia Jama’are River basin Authority headquarters (because of access to u-turn) and passes up the ring-road, and another one from Hotoro Danmarke down to the same Ring-road. Your excellency, the two roads, which are not up to four kilometres long with provision of drainage, were constructed last under Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau’s administration by then Hon. Amanallah Ahmed Mohammed Excutive chairman of Tarauni local government.
This is almost 20 years ago. The roads has now become very bad mainly due to heavy traffic. When the Muhammadu Buhari underpass was being constructed, motorists used the roads to connect to ring-road.
Your Excellency, you can make your loyal supporters who always support you without expecting anything in return, other residents using the roads to access their destination happy, by reconstructing the roads.
We know His Excellency as someone who does not wait for someone to brief him on important public issues as he often visits sites to have firsthand information on issues.
It will also be good if His Excellency find time out of his busy schedule to see these roads to confirm the claim.
We pray your administration reconstructs these roads to ease the long suffering of the people in the ward and other users of the road. We believe before your eight year tenure ends InshAllah, the dividend of democracy will touch every part of the state through viable projects.
