Arsenal Fans Club Nigeria Set For Abuja Launch, Charity Outreach

Arsenal Fans Club Nigeria will officially unveil its organisation in Abuja on Saturday, 17 October, as part of a two-day programme featuring its second annual general meeting, community outreach and football activities.
The club, in a press statement issued by its National President, Charles Ojugbana, said the programme would bring together members from different states and city chapters to strengthen its membership and promote support for Arsenal Football Club in Nigeria.
The club will combine its unveiling with a market sanitation campaign and activities to promote grassroots football support.
The statement revealed that activities will begin on Friday, 16 October, with the second annual general meeting, which will provide an opportunity for members to discuss the club’s affairs and future plans.
On Saturday, members will participate in aerobic sessions and a novelty football match before embarking on a sanitation campaign at Wuse Market in Abuja.
As part of the initiative, the club will donate industrial refuse bins and other sanitation materials to the market union to support environmental cleanliness.
Ojugbana said the market outreach was consistent with the organisation’s charitable objectives, particularly its commitment to supporting vulnerable, less-privileged and disadvantaged members of society.
He explained that the club drew inspiration from the achievements of Nigerian players who have represented Arsenal, including former Super Eagles forward Nwankwo Kanu and current stars Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze.
The club president said the organisation aimed to improve the experience of Arsenal supporters and expand the club’s following across Nigeria.
The formal unveiling is expected to attract prominent personalities, business leaders and celebrities who support Arsenal, including former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Senator Dino Melaye and Kanu.
Arsenal Fans Club Nigeria operates a governance structure comprising a Board of Trustees, a National Executive Committee and a General Assembly, which serves as its highest decision-making body.
According to the statement, the organisation also maintains a digital membership database to support its administration and operations.
Beyond football support, the club plans to organise an awareness campaign for children with Down syndrome in March 2027 to coincide with World Down Syndrome Day.
The Abuja launch and accompanying activities are expected to provide a platform for members to strengthen their relationships, promote community service and expand the organisation’s presence in Nigeria.
