PZ Cussons Nigeria posts N260.46bn Q1 revenue, 39% organic operating profit growth

PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc has reported revenue of N260.46 billion for the first quarter of its 2027 financial year. The unaudited financial statements, filed on the Nigerian Exchange, show the top-line figure climbed 10 per cent from N59.014 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
According to the results, cost of sales went up by five per cent, from N43.11 billion in Q1 2025 to N45.06 billion in Q1 2026. Gross profit, however, increased by 24 per cent, from N15.90 billion to N19.78 billion.
Operating profit for the period stood at N8.54 billion, an improvement from N5.85 billion recorded in the same quarter of 2026.
Oghenekevwe Ogefere, the company secretary, attributed the 39 per cent growth in organic operating profit to a favourable mix of volume and pricing as well as the strength of the Group’s brands across relevant categories. She noted that the performance mirrored the Group’s sustained emphasis on revenue growth that can be maintained, efficient operations, and reinforcing the business’s fundamental performance.
“Profit before tax was N9.09 billion, while profit after tax was N4.63 billion. These figures were lower than in the corresponding period last year, which included N15.74 billion in non-recurring gains. The Group recorded N0.51 billion in non-recurring gains in the current quarter. Gross margin improved to approximately 30.5 per cent, from 26.9 per cent a year earlier,” Ogefere said.
She added that the company is committed to keeping revenue growth on track, enhancing operating performance, and creating lasting value for its stakeholders.
