NEMA Deploys Humanitarian Team To Ondo Aircraft Crash Site

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has deployed a humanitarian and technical team to the site of the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash near Igbokoda in Ondo State to support ongoing search and recovery operations.
NEMA Director-General, Mrs Zubaida Umar, directed the Director of Search and Rescue, Air Commodore Bature Usman, to lead the technical team to the crash location.
The deployment is in addition to NEMA personnel already at the scene, who have been working with other emergency responders following the crash.
Recall that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, had confirmed the crash on Monday.
Umar, in a statement issued by the NEMA Press Unit on Tuesday, expressed deep sadness over the incident and commiserated with the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the Nigerian Air Force and families affected by the crash.
She acknowledged the sacrifices of Nigerian Air Force personnel in the service and defence of the country, describing the incident as deeply painful.
According to her, the activation of the technical team is intended to strengthen ongoing search and recovery efforts and to ensure that necessary humanitarian and operational support is provided at the scene.
The NEMA DG also commended the prompt activation of search-and-rescue operations following the incident and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to coordinating and supporting the response alongside other relevant agencies.
She prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives, while seeking comfort for their families and speedy recovery for anyone injured in the crash.
