Amazon Unveils $35 Kindle Click Remote for Page Turning

Amazon has introduced a new accessory called the Kindle Click, a compact Bluetooth remote priced at $34.99 that allows users to turn pages on their Kindle without physically touching the device. The announcement came on Thursday alongside a refreshed Kindle lineup featuring slimmer designs, zero bezels, and a lighter feel.
The remote is intended to address a common inconvenience for e-reader users who must reach out and tap the screen each time they want to advance a page. Amazon is positioning the Kindle Click for scenarios where touching the Kindle is impractical, such as reading under the covers, using a treadmill, or when the device is placed on a tray table during a flight. With the remote, readers can simply press a button to turn the page.
The Kindle Click is compatible with all new Kindle devices as well as models released in 2024 and later.
Historically, Kindle owners have turned to third-party accessories, many of which rely on a clip-on mechanism that physically interacts with the display rather than communicating directly with the Kindle. Amazon's entry into this space follows moves by competitors. Rakuten Kobo launched its $29.99 Kobo Remote last year, and the BOOX Tappy, a $29.99 wireless page turner for BOOX ePaper devices, is also available.
Although the Kindle Click is priced higher than these alternatives, Amazon appears to be betting that Kindle users will pay for an official accessory tailored to the lineup. The new Kindle lineup represents one of the most significant physical redesigns in years, and Amazon says its display is 30% faster at turning pages compared to the previous generation.
In addition to the remote, Amazon announced other accessories for the new Kindle family, including a magnetic cover with physical page-turn buttons and a charging dock stand for the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition and Colorsoft Signature Edition.
