Abia Positioned For Global Economic Attraction – Otti’s Aide

The chief of staff (CoS) to Abia State governor, Caleb Ajagba, says the state will attract global economic attention when it hosts over 500 international investors and business leaders at two separate business fora later this year.

The fora are the AFRICANDO 2026 U.S.-Africa Trade and Investment Conference/Expo and the Aba International Trade Fair and Exhibitions, slated for November 17–19 and 27th November – 6th December in Umuahia and Aba, respectively.Ajagba stated these while appealing to Christian and Muslim leaders across the state to mobilise their business communities for the events in Umuahia, the state capital.

The CoS also stated that international investors and business leaders are expected to come from the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, Asia, and other African countries.

He said: “The events would provide opportunities for Abia businesses to showcase their products and services, engage potential investors, establish partnerships and explore new markets.”

“I urged business owners in the state to register, secure exhibition spaces, advertise their products and participate in business-to-business meetings and investment sessions.”

He explained that the strong international interest had also led to increased demand for accommodation at major hotels in Umuahia and Aba during the period. Ajagba, who stressed that participation should cut across religious and ethnic lines, noted that the opportunities are open to all residents and businesses in the state.

“Our desire is that every segment of our society should participate in and benefit from the economic opportunities emerging from the transformation of our state.” ‎ ‎

He appealed to the leaders to mobilise their members and ensure that local businesses were positioned to engage the visiting investors and business delegations. ‎

‎“Let us mobilise our business community. Let us showcase our products and services. Let us connect our entrepreneurs with investors and markets.
