Former Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has mobilised his political associates to strengthen support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and the emergence of Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next governor of Lagos State in the 2027 general election.

Ambode reaffirmed his commitment to party unity, strengthening political relationships and mobilising grassroots support during a strategic meeting with his political associates yesterday in Lagos.

According to a statement issued by Ambode Support Associates and signed by Adesina Tiamiyu, arrangements were underway to welcome Hamzat, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, alongside other party candidates, to Epe next week.

The proposed gathering, the statement said, would demonstrate the strength, unity and collective resolve of the Lagos APC family ahead of the 2027 general election.

It added that the engagement would bring together party members, political leaders, community stakeholders and party faithful from across Lagos State.

Beyond providing an avenue for interaction, the gathering is expected to strengthen existing alliances, deepen political collaboration and renew members’ commitment to the party’s electoral success.

The statement said the mobilisation would be anchored on the philosophy of Ambode Support Associates, One Nation, One Community, One Family, with efforts targeted at galvanising support from grassroots communities.

It listed Community Development Associations (CDAs), market women, artisans and persons living with disabilities, among other groups, as key stakeholders to be mobilised.

The group said the initiative was driven by its belief in inclusion and the need to translate political relationships and collective commitment into electoral success.

“The message is clear: unity must translate into action, relationships must translate into stronger alliances, and collective commitment must translate into electoral success because we believe strongly in inclusion,” the statement said.
