Keivo Pulled From BBNaija Voting Poll After Altercation With Tram
Victor Ikpe, better known as Keivo, is no longer listed among the housemates that fans can vote for in the ongoing "Show Ya Sef" edition of Big Brother Naija.
A check of the official voting platform on Tuesday showed that the Season 11 contestant's name had been taken off the list of those eligible for votes.
The removal happened at the same time as the show told fans that Biggie would be speaking to the housemates about a physical altercation between Keivo and another contestant, Tram.
"Make sure you stay locked into DStv Ch. 198 or GOtv Ch. 49, Biggie is going to address the Show Ya Sef housemates – soon!" the show wrote on X on Tuesday.
No official explanation had been given for why Keivo was dropped from the voting poll as of the time this report was filed, and the announcement has left viewers guessing about whether he could face disciplinary action.
The two housemates clashed on Monday, in what is the final week of the reality competition, after they disagreed over a black shirt that Tram said was his. The quarrel grew worse, and Keivo threw the first punch, prompting Big Brother to step in and instruct the housemates to freeze.
Afterwards, an emotional Keivo explained what led to his actions, saying the matter was about more than the shirt. According to him, he was being accused of taking something that was not his, and he could not leave the show with people thinking he was a thief.
He later told Big Brother that he did not want the incident to become the thing people remember about him.
Viewers have responded in different ways, with some blaming Keivo for turning to violence and others asking whether Tram should also be punished.
One user, #rukymonaie, argued that if only Keivo is disqualified, it would suggest favouritism. The user wrote, "If Biggie disqualifies only Keivo, then I am happy that Keivo handled those ninjas. You cannot be displaying favouritism and be foolish at the same time."
#Natasha_ify said the blame should be shared, while faulting Keivo for not keeping his temper in check.
"Both Keivo and Tram are at fault….. Keivo people should be happy that it happened early, and you guys should use all that money gift him.. at mastics one winner. Hope he learns how to control his temper cos I can't support violence," she wrote.
Another commenter, #dijiaderogba, was harsher on Keivo. "Nah, Keivo messed up so badly. I can't bring myself to even justify whatever he did yesterday night," the user wrote.
#MargaretSTK, however, felt the decision came too quickly, writing, "That's too fast. Why not address the issue before taking away oga kolo? His fans should save the money and buy him."
There were also calls from some viewers for Tram to be sanctioned as well.
"Tram must also be disqualified, remove his photo. No VOTES for Tram please," #busisiwemadziba wrote.
#germanjuic3ee described the episode as a costly error given how close the show is to its end. The user wrote, "Imagine the last days to the final and you can't control your hands and emotions, and you've now lost it all. It's very insane."
The "Show Ya Sef" season is set to wrap up on October 4. Aikou, Barry, Bluethopia, Flora, Keivo, Oyin, Ricky, Sheba, Temi Nkem and Tram are the remaining finalists.
