Kaduna Abduction: Family Begs Govt To Rescue Victims

The family of a nine-year-old boy and his uncle abducted by bandits in Chikun local government area (LGA) of Kaduna State has appealed to the federal and Kaduna State governments to help secure their release, five days after the incident.
The family said the abductors had neither contacted them nor provided any information on the whereabouts or condition of the victims since they were taken from their home in Angwan Waziri, Karji and neighbouring Babban Saura communities.
LEADERSHIP recalls that bandits attacked Angwan Waziri in Karji and Babban Saura communities in the early hours of Thursday, October 1, 2026, killing a man and abducting residents, including the nine-year-old boy and his uncle.
The boy’s mother, Linda Nzekwe, told our correspondent that the family was particularly worried about her son, who was taken without clothes or shoes.
“We are worried. I don’t know where they took them to. Government should come to our aid,” she said.
Nzekwe said she had been unable to stop thinking about whether her son had eaten since he was abducted.
“I don’t know my son’s condition. I don’t know what they are doing to him. I don’t know if he has eaten. I can’t eat. Please, God, I don’t know if my son has eaten,” she said.
She appealed to the Federal and Kaduna State governments to intervene and help rescue her son and younger brother, saying the family was deeply worried by the lack of communication from the abductors.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command had yet to react to the development, while its spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, did not respond to several calls seeking his reaction.
