Tinubu’s Bold Reforms Qualify Him For Second Term – First Lady

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has said that bold reforms by President Bola Tinubu, which are yielding positive results, coupled with other achievements recorded under his administration, have qualified the president for a second term ahead of the 16 January 2027, presidential election.
The President’s wife made this assertion yesterday in Abuja, in her remarks at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Women Campaign Council, stressing the achievements under the “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity”.
She declared that the administration’s progress reflects actual national stabilisation rather than mere political rhetoric.
“The theme of this year’s rally is not just a slogan; it is our reality,” she said. “Our economy is stabilising, inflation is coming down, foreign reserves are growing, and investors are returning to Nigeria. Our farmers are getting more support, and university students can now access interest-free loans through the NELFUND scheme.”
The former federal lawmaker described President Tinubu as a courageous leader who is willing to take difficult decisions in the overall interest of the nation, even as she urged women delegates to extend the message of his administration’s accomplishments back to their respective communities.
“Let us show the world that Nigerian women speak with one voice,” she said, even as she lauded the supporters for believing in the Renewed Hope Agenda and committing to re-electing the President for a second term.
The First Lady further admonished the newly inaugurated council to go round the country and mobilise voters at the grassroots level for President Tinubu and all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
She announced that all independent support groups previously operating under separate banners have been consolidated into a single party structure to create a more united front to mobilise votes for the President.
“We have collapsed every other women’s support group into one—from Tinubu Again to Torch Bearers and others,” she explained, “What you will see on the ballot box is APC. We are here to promote APC, nothing less,” she said.
She added that the council will coordinate campaigns across all elective positions, covering the presidency, governorships, the National Assembly, and State Houses of Assembly.
The First Lady said the campaign will feature six geopolitical zonal mega-rallies, state rallies, and a grand finale in Abuja.
She also announced that she and the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, will participate in the zonal campaigns alongside other party leaders, while state-level rallies will be led by the wife of the Senate President, the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the Chairperson of the Nigeria Governors’ Spouses Forum.
Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission(NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who anchored the event, expressed confidence that Nigerians will look at the good works of the President and return him to office in 2027.
The Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, in his remarks, assured the Nigerian public that the President has done well and urged women leaders and stakeholders within the party to remain united and ramp up mobilisation ahead of the election.
He noted that the women must remain focused on the party’s collective interest, expressing this in the phrase “one vote, one movement, one choice.”
In her welcome remarks, the APC National Women Leader, Dr Mary Alile Idele, who outlined a four-point action plan for the campaign, declared that the “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity” is not merely a theme, but a call to action.
She told the women to amplify the gains and opportunities of the Renewed Hope Agenda directly to the people—taking the message into homes, markets, communities, and the grassroots.
Dr Idele said, “First, we must build stronger women-to-women networks across our wards, local governments, and communities. Second, we must identify women who need support, connect them to available empowerment opportunities, and ensure that beneficiaries become agents of future community development.
“Thirdly, we must take the message of reform, opportunity, and prosperity to everyone and every community, listening to the concerns of our people and providing constructive feedback to leadership. And finally, we must move from mobilisation to measurable actions with clear responsibility, grassroots structures, regular engagement, and accountable results.”
