Dangote to Highlight Refinery IPO at Abuja Trade Fair Special Day

A statement from the Corporate Affairs Unit of Dangote Industries Limited, made available to journalists in Lokoja, Kogi State, on Monday, has outlined the company's plans for its special day at the 21st Abuja International Trade Fair, where the ongoing Initial Public Offering of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals will take centre stage.

Dangote Industries is among the sponsors of the fair, and its special day is fixed for October 2. The programme will feature a high-level fireside and business interactive session that will draw participants from the Dangote Group, governments, the organised private sector, and business leaders. Together, they will assess how the Dangote Refinery is reshaping Nigeria's economic development.

Prospective investors, entrepreneurs, business operators, and other attendees will, according to the company, have the chance to interact directly with Dangote Group representatives. The session is designed to help them better grasp both the refinery's ongoing IPO and its wider economic importance.

Themed 'Dangote Refinery, Vision 2030, ACCI and the Economy', the session will scrutinise the refinery's role in Nigeria's energy security, industrialisation, trade, employment generation, taxation, and economic growth.

A key focus will be how boosting domestic refining capacity can cut Nigeria's reliance on imported petroleum products, preserve foreign exchange, reinforce local value chains, and open up fresh opportunities for businesses in the petroleum, petrochemical, logistics, manufacturing, and services sectors.

The IPO itself will be a major item on the agenda. Those present are expected to consider how the public offer can widen ownership of one of Africa's most significant industrial assets, add depth to Nigeria's capital market, and give eligible investors a route into the country's ongoing industrial transformation.

Senior representatives from the Dangote Group, the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), government, and the broader private sector are expected at the fireside session.

According to the company, the gathering will also offer a chance to look closely at Dangote Group's Vision 2030 and what it means for industrialisation, job creation, local content development, technology transfer, investment, and economic diversification.

Visitors to the Trade Fair will additionally be able to meet the Dangote Group at its pavilion, away from the fireside discussion. A range of products and businesses will be on display there, covering cement, sugar, salt and seasoning, packaging, and other sectors.

By maintaining its participation and sponsorship of the Abuja International Trade Fair, the Dangote Group is demonstrating its continued backing for platforms that advance trade, investment, entrepreneurship, and closer ties between the private sector and government.

The 21st Abuja International Trade Fair, put together by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is anticipated to host hundreds of exhibitors, businesses, investors, policymakers, and members of the public. It will act as a venue for networking, market access, investment promotion, and business-to-business engagement.

The company said it is eager to welcome participants to its special day and pavilion, where they can learn about the Group's products, investment opportunities, and possible areas for business collaboration.
